HUDSON, N.H. — Michael Tilford delivered a performance for the ages.

As a result, the Connecticut Oilers returned home Wednesday night with some hardware — the Eastern Hockey League's championship trophy.

Tilford was credited with 64 saves as the Oilers defeated the Northern Cyclones 4-1 in the deciding game of the best-of-five series at Cyclones Arena to claim a league title in the organization's third season.

Nick Jermain, Phil Kreuser, Dejon Marsh and Lucas Bombardier scored for the Oilers, who rallied from a 2-1 series deficit to dethrone the Cyclones as EHL champions.
